Boys Under 11 Managers : Michael Murphy, Glenn Goggin and Kevin Cullinane Training: Every Wednesday evening in Gortnaglough from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
MATCH REPORTS August 29th The schoolboys section started on August 29th. Our u11’s enter into the Cork Schoolboys League for the first time and out of 8 Divisions found themselves being placed straight into Division 5. They played their very first league game on the 29th and the opposition couldn’t come any harder than Togher side Greenwood. Ballinhassig started the brighter and it became obvious that they were physically the stronger and seemed to dominate the game, taking it to Greenwood all the time. Ballinhassig took the lead midway through the first half with a well taken goal from Aaron O’Leary, this was to be his first of a five goal, man of the match performance from him. Greenwood got one back before half-time, but Kieran O’Mahony played well in goal making sure that it would be the only one. The defence were steady throughout the game with Kevin Lynch and Eoin Buckley in particular containing Greenwood on more than one occasion. A fantastic start to the u11 season and well done to the entire panel that played a part in a 5-1 victory. Kieran O’Mahony, Kevin Lynch, Ethan Greene, Padraig Murphy, Eoin Buckley, Conor Desmond, Sam Houston, Jonathan Keeffe, Ciaran Cullinane, James Ryan, Aaron O’Leary, Diare Cullinane and Sean O’Donovan. These u11’s are being looked after by Michael Murphy, Glenn Goggin and Kevin Cullinane. They train in Gortnaglough on Wednesday’s 6:30 – 8:00pm. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MATCH

WON -5-2 REPORT BY PADDY WHELAN It was a cold wet morning as we left Ballinhassig, to meet
our opposition, Kanturk. The Gods were definitely smiling on us as the
rain cleared just as the lads went onto the pitch, supported by a handful
of brave and hardy parents! The cold and early start was well worth our trouble because
after eleven minutes we were three~nil up, with goals coming from Aaron
twice and Jonathan. Kanturk
shortly found their form after this bad start, but the home team didn't
score their first goal until an unnamed player finished off his hat trick
with an own goal! The team really played well as a unit with excellent
support from the midfield and backs, we were only caught by the offside
rule. There was a worrying period mid way through second half when
Kanturk produced a fine goal leaving us only slightly ahead at 3~2.
However this was short lived as Daire and Jonathan each scored a goal in
quick succession leaving the final score at 5~2.
The game finished as the rain started leaving thirteen proud
and happy happy Ballinhassig players. GOAL SCORERS

DREW 1-1 REPORT Ballinhassig Under 11 team played a tremendous game against
their top of the table rivals Corinthians. The first half was end to end with players given very little
time on the ball and outstanding defending by both times. At half time, the game was
scoreless. Five minutes into the second half, Ballinhassig went ahead
from a long range effort by Jonathon Keeffe. Ballinhassig had a number of
chances but a combination of good defending and marginal offsides kept
Corinthians in the game. With
2 minutes to go, Corinthians equalised from a series of good passes and an
excellent finish. It finished Ballinhassig 1 Corinthians
